'm coming from the historical game changer Asus 1080ti OC Edition that still keeps up with modern games on 1440p @ 120fps so convincing me that the price to performance of these newer cards is good will be hard.Size - This thing is monstrous!Don't make the same mistake I did and think this is 287mm long like the reference model, no this beast comes in at 344mm but WAIT don't forget that the support bracket brings it to an insane 387.35mm! Needless to say the Sliger SM560 in my picture isn't going to cut it anymore and sadly the SFF world isn't quite caught up to these larger cards. I picked up a busted up OG full sized case for $10 and still had to cut it up to make this sucker fit.Performance - Great performer but is it $1200 great? EhhhI have only had this running since late last night so not much in the way of testing but I did run a few Heaven benchmarks, Installed with, stock out of the box performance settings the card does decent. In heaven @ 1440p extreme settings with v-sync off I achieved an average 192 fps with max hitting 428 fps. Extreme settings with v-sync on @ 1440p 165hz I achieved an average 146 fps with max hitting 176 fps. Personally this is disappointing results and I can only hope that AMD can continue refining the drivers for better performance.Acoustics - Decent with stock fan curveThe stock fan curve is tailored to be as quiet as possible but naturally I believe this is leaving some performance on the table. Temps were anywhere from 65c to 80c on my first run. I manually adjusted the fans to find a sweet spot which ended up being about 35% for quiet operation while keeping the card at decent temps. I currently have my fan curve setup for 35% at 50c, 40% at 60c and 70% at 70c sacrificing a little noise for cooler temps is fine for me.I've attached a picture of HWMonitor Current, Min, Max data after running Heaven Benchmark 1440p - 165 fps Ultra settings with stock card settings. This was with my case sides removed.Overall - Get the reference
