Features
4K Video Capture
With the clarity of 4K video, the LUMIX ZS70 makes it easy to record every journey in up to 3840 x 2160p detail — four times the quality of Full HD. Capture more excitement, more life and more memories that will last for years to come.
Get in Close
The LUMIX ZS70 brings you right into the action. Its 24mm LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR Lens includes 30x optical zoom (35mm camera equivalent: 24-720mm) to get you in close to everything that piques your interest.
Take Control
The camera's Control Ring provides smooth manual control of the aperture, shutter speed, zoom and focus. It can easily be customized to handle your favorite settings.
Eye Viewfinder
Sometimes, harsh sunlight makes even the brightest camera screens difficult to view. The LUMIX ZS70 features a 0.2-inch 1,166k-dot LVF (Live View Finder) that activates automatically when you lift the camera to your eye, so you can see every detail, and capture the shot you're looking for.
5-Axis Optical Image Stabilization
To suppress blurring, 5-Axis HYBRID O.I.S.+ (Optical Image Stabilizer Plus) detects and compensates for five types of movement. At the same time, the camera's Level Shot function detects and maintains the image's horizontal line even if the camera is tilted.
Excluding 4K video recording and high-speed video recording.
20.3MP Detail Even in Dimly Lit Environments
A 20.3-megapixel High Sensitivity MOS sensor records high-quality images in incredible detail. The sensor works in tandem with the Venus Engine to ensure stunning pictures even in dimly lit environments with minimal image noise.
4K Selfies
With a 180-degree tiltable monitor, you'll always get the perfect selfie. Whether it’s of you, a group, party moment or overactive dog, you'll get your shot in 4K quality. LUMIX 4K PHOTO lets you catch the best moment at 30fps and save it as an 8-megapixel equivalent high-resolution image.
Post Focus / Focus Stacking
An amazing Post Focus function gives you the ability to focus after you've taken the shot. Just capture the scene, review the image on the LCD and touch the part of the photo you want to sharpen. Then press set, and save. It's that simple.
The Focus Stacking function lets you adjust the focus area after shooting by blending multiple images taken at different focus distances to create a one-of-a-kind image depth of field. Make images with the kind of de-focus you want or pan-focus your image by selecting focus area after shooting. It's the ideal feature for shooting with fast apertures, close-ups or macro photography.

Batteries Required? Yes Number of Batteries Customer Reviewss***eI wanted a camera that I could get pictures of birds and animals without having to try to get close to them. The photos I have added show how great the zoom works. The first one is an osprey at the top of a 35-40 foot tree. The series of 4 pictures taken from the same spot, with different levels of zoom, using the palm tree as the focal point. I am very happy with the performance on both pictures and recordings.
Dal******ckdepth of sharp color. Taking hand held shooting with zoom in and out is great, very detailed and stability.
Am*****balAfter 3 months, I'm still delighted with this camera. As you can see in the photos provided, the Lumix takes detailed zoom photos, far better than was ever possible on my defunct Nikon. The image stabilization works very well. The learning curve for all the features is fairly steep, but it's possible to take good photos after taking just a couple of hours to learn the basics; after that begin exploring all the possibilities as you become more comfortable with the device. The negatives: There is no GPS, so you have to record where photos were taken...which I do when I download them onto my iPhone; the grip is a bit awkward; and the flash is inconveniently located and easy to block with your fingers. All-in-all, a first rate experience.
F***kI recently got into photography and I've learned the difference between a real camera and a phone camera. The main difference is optics. If you want any kind of optical zoom, you need to get off the phone. Got this last minute for a hiking vacation because I didn't want to lug my 'proper' camera. It filled in admirably. Selfies, eagles (and ospreys) across the river, all perfect.
M**My first Panasonic camera. Purchased this for the zoom, portability and video capabilities. Does fit in pants pocket, but is heavier and larger than I expected. I posted size comparisons with other cameras I own. Very fun camera to have with me all day. Start up is fast. Zooming in and out is fast as well. The lense is silent while zooming. Which is great when shooting video.
kew*******ferI’m a retired professional photographer. I’ve worked full time for Detroit’s 2 major daily newspapers and freelanced for many other clients starting in 1971. My photo schooling at CCS was done with my manual camera, a Nikon FTN, and I souped B&W film) as I shot for a weekly newspaper group. My very last personal camera purchase before this LUMIX was the feature-rich Nikon D800. With this LUMIX there are tons of features to learn. It’s amazing what it can do. It will address everyone’s skill level, from 1 simple point and shoot setting to the ability to set shutter speeds, aperture settings, flash fill… it goes on and on as you can read in the description. There is lots to learn! It has a nice zoom lens on it crafted by Leica that will reach way out, and it still maintains a very sharp image. I’m not fully impressed with the auto focus just yet, but, I’m still learning the features. When I want to make a setting like I did with my old gear, it does it! I notice with the sun at your back it will flatten out the screen viewer image, but it then has an eyepiece to look thru. Lumix seems have all their bases covered. All of this is in a little camera that will fit in your pants pocket. The 2 above photos were taken using the program (P) setting. The rugged northern Michigan Lake Huron shoreline was shot at slightly wide angle, and the seagull was zoomed in all the way to full zoom from a good distance. You can see the detail in the Gull’s eye. I’m enjoying the Leica glass!
w**Generally, I shoot in P mode or M mode. Both modes work fine on this camera. The autofocus is better than on the two Canons. The focus modes take a little experimentation to find the one that works best for you, but they all seem to work. 'Standard' color balance is fine. I need to play with 'Natural' a bit to see which one I prefer. The attached photos were all taken on standard. All on a single sunny morning walk after a rainy night in Massachusetts.
F***uLIt's an impeccable camera for avid photographers with a reasonable price tag compared to other point-and-shoot camera brands and this one is affordable. Ease of use, portability, and great features are what I'm looking for when buying a low-budget one, and this camera does cut it and I highly recommend it!
