Customer questions & answers
Question: Can I leave it up in the winter> It snow occasionally here. Also can you use a propane heater inside the structure or use a BBQ?
Answer: The gazebo can be left up in the winter, but we highly recommend clearing snow from the roof if you have any accumulation.
You can use a propane heater so long as the gazebo is properly ventilated, and if your propane heater is the type with an exposed flame then you would also want to make sure that you do not have any flammable materials (such as gauzy curtains) near the heater.
You can use a BBQ inside the gazebo but even though the roof is vented, frequent use of the BBQ may create a small layer of soot on the ceiling.Question: Can it be put on a deck?
Answer: This my OPINION ONLY based upon having one. Mine is attached to my pavers (there are concealed mounting brackets at the base of all four legs of the gazebo) and has stayed put through all four seasons (I live in the midwest) including high winds, heavy rain, hail, and over a foot of snowfall. For a wooden deck - two considerations: 1) This gazebo is heavy - can your deck support this kind of weight AND guests or snow? 2) Support structure - if the wind does kick up and tries to lift the gazebo, is the deck structurally strong enough to stay put?Question: What is the size of the feet? I may have to pull up pavers and pour concrete pads for this to set on.
Answer: The feet are 4" x 4" posts. they also come with a cover that is meant to hide any attachment method. I love this gazebo! Just saying.Question: What is the roof material? Similar gazebos have either aluminum or the poly stuff...it stes that it is steel as a description and I want to double che
Answer: The Chatham gazebo features a steel roof. -

This is a very good looking gazebo and the only one that has stood up to gale force winds, several times now! Has totally exceeded our expectations!
W***EAfter enjoying our Gazebo for over a month, we have been using it almost daily and love it. It took my 13 year old son and I couple evening to put this together. I looked for many months for a 10' x 12' gazebo and the reviews/seller is what attracted to me. Not only was this by far the best one I could find at this price range to handle these high winds we get in Ohio, the seller commitment to your satisfaction sold me.
W***DQIt is sturdy and very attractive. It took approximately 10 hours to put together. I thought that I would be able to assemble it myself, but I did need help. The instructions are good, but as others mentioned, watching the video really made it easy. We anchored it to the deck as we have pretty high winds. It really makes a difference as far as getting out of the sun and having some shade. I purchased the curtains separately to help when the sun is setting and to provide privacy.
D**DWe put our gazebo up on Saturday but I am already in love with it!!! It's definitely my new Happy place! It took my husband, father in law and I 9hrs. to fully assemble this. The instructions were clear and all parts were fine. I love everything about this except the color or the mosquito netting because I am not a fan of brown but the quality of the gazebo and netting is amazing so far. Also, the netting has great details for zipping, pulluing netting to the side, securing it to the gazebo, etc. Love, love, love!!!!! Will update as time goes on but so far it gets a solid 10 from me!!!!
W***EThe gazebo is perfect and exactly what I was looking for! The mosquito netting works really well and I love the fact that there is netting in the roof of the gazebo. It rained the other day and not a drop of water leaked through. The packaging the gazebo came in definitely prevented the gazebo from getting damaged, but I ended up with a lot of trash to try and get rid of - two wood pallets and two metal framing units. Overall, this product is perfect and I am extremely happy with the end result.
S***Sso far so good the only gripe is that there are no rain gutters and the metal roof makes a sound when its hot and cold at night occasional thud as expected when metal contracts or expands
D**DIt took my 2 boys 6 hours to put together. We bolted it to our deck with 4 inch screws. It's beautiful and seems very sturdy.
D***DF100% satisfied. Delivery was less than a week. The shipping company called a few days ahead to make sure someone would be home because the delivery had to be signed off. It came as one long, large, heavy box on a pallet. The whole box is close to 400 pounds and since it wasn’t close enough to where I was going to build it, I unpacked it and carried all the pieces over to my patio area. I put the whole thing together by myself, only needed a hand one time from my wife to hold up one of the sides while I connected the crossbeam between the two opposite sides. I worked on it a little at a time over the course of a few days, and probably spent a little over eight hours putting it together. Basically if you can read picture diagrams similar to what you might get from a box of Legos you should have no problem putting this together, all the screws and parts are well labeled. All the parts were there and there was absolutely no damage to anything. I am 5‘10“ tall and I used a 6’ ladder to put it together. However, I would recommend using a 8’ ladder for the assembly of the top portion. One tip I could possibly give is when putting the roof panels on since the screw holes are slotted I would keep the panels pushed up toward the center as much as possible. It will help on putting the covers on over the seams. Since this was a decent size purchase I decided to write a review on it, and would say I am extremely satisfied and glad I made the purchase.
DA****FMy advice is that you will need at least 2 people to install this gazebo if you have a 3rd person that would be great. The video shows 3 people. You will also need 2 ladders. We used a 6' ladder and a 4 step stool. We only had one ladder, if you have two, even better. We are both in our 50s, 54 and 53, and we were able to assemble it by ourselves. The roof is very easy to put up but will need two people for this process as they are heavy. The Gazebo does come with extra screws and washers, in case you lose one or two, as we did. We used a cordless drill and it was much easier. We love this Gazebo so far. We hope it lasts us for many years.
D***FThis is a hardtop, all metal gazebo. After doing a ton of research, we decided against a soft top in the northeast USA as the first snow or strong wind storm would destroy the top. These "roof" panels are steel and framing structure a mix of steel and aluminum. Instructions say this is preferably a six man/two ladder operation that can be completed anywhere from 2.5 to 6 hours depending on available manpower and skill level. I'm a very skilled non professional builder and managed to assemble the entire structure solo with one ladder in a total of 17 hours. At the very least there should be one other person to assist. I definitely had some sketchy moments but this is not complicated to assemble. Literally only need a screwdriver and a ladder. If mounting over lawn/dirt you'll need a hammer for the post stakes They supply the hex wrench.....BUT if you want this built in a reasonable amount of time you'll need a 7/16" or 11mm socket, a power socket driver and a screw gun. There are hundreds and hundreds of fasteners and washers. I also used blue (medium) thread sealer on all fasteners after reading some other reviews of the stability of the structure. I also used a 4' level to check plumb of the posts and tape measure to check squareness of the posts to one another. Final product is very nice looking, price it's unbeatable, simple assembly, all metal construction, which is why I gave it five stars. Looking forward to nice weather....
