Question:If my viewing distance (wall where the tv is to be mounted to sofa) is around 14 feet, what size tv would work best? i am conflicted between 85 vs 75?
Answer:Hi - While this will ultimately depend on your viewing preference, an 85" TV will provide you with a great picture at 14' away.
The picture is fantastic as is the sound. We've had no issues whatsoever. Getting the remote set up was a bit tricky. But once that was done, the rest was simple. My husband uses it as his computer monitor as well. The graphics for Witcher were beautiful already. This TV makes it even better.
The Picture is incredible and the built-in sound system is way better than expected! I was surprised that the TV tuner/CPU is a separate unit. This is part of the reason for the rating of 4 stars vs. 5 stars. The tuner unit doesn't feel very secure the way it attaches to the TV. However, there hasn't been any problems with the tuner once everything is set up and in place. I guess I was just worried because this TV is an investment. I do like the functionality of the remote. There are a LOT of smart features on this tv. There is a learning curve to figure out how to access all features, functions, and settings. Basic use is very straight forward. Enough can not be said about how amazing, vivid, and bright the crystal clear picture is to behold. I will enjoy this TV for years to come.
POWER ON. The QN800A picture is stunning right out of the box. After the crew left, my wife and I went to YouTube for some 4K scenery and animal videos and were *blown away.* It lived up to my recent sleepless night dreams of what 8K can do. We tuned into a replay of a NY Yankees baseball game (not in 4K YET) and it looked fantastic. The 8K processor really amps up the 4K video content.... next step will be finding some 8K material on YouTube. I bought four 8K data certified HDMI 2.1 cables to handle the high data throughput and they are living UP to the data transmission demands. VERY, VERY, VERY happy with this TV in the first 10 hours of use... Wowza!
I am not an expert but the new 8k TV is a really something . My son wants it too. I think we will buy him a new TVto his new house:))
This TV is pretty amazing. Picture quality is excellent. I opted to get the branded soundbar with subwoofer and my basement feels like a movie theater. The smart features are great.
1) capable of significantly better display in brighter rooms then current OLED technology (~2000 versus 700+ nits). Creates a high-impact (wow!) picture in any bright room that current OLED technology just can't match. Brilliantly realistic with best 4k source material. 2) vastly improved black levels compared to prior Samsung LED technology. 3) not vulnerable to burn in, unlike current OLED displays. 4) True OLED not practically speaking available in 8K. 5) minimal bezel, creating a virtually edge to edge display. 6) Much better 4k upscaling than previous gen Samsung 4K TVs. Makes a real difference on the best FHD material, less so with broadcast HD, much of which is 720. 7) improved streaming interface and apps – but they had nowhere to go but up in terms of legendary bugginess on earlier generation Samsung 4K displays - which often crashed multiple times per movie. 8) compatibility with remote codes to earlier generations Samsung TVs – while this may not be a meaningful plus for some people, anybody with an older Samsung TV has a remote that can control this TV (which believe it or not makes upgrading your system a lot easier if you are using a universal programmable remote like the Harmony).
I would say the negative reviews on here have nothing to do with the TV. It sucks there were problems with shipping...I even had problems with a damaged box but the TV was ok. Other than that this TV is AMAZING!! I got the 85 inch and it's been quite impressive, the picture was extremely impressive with all the vistas in that show. Overall extremely happy with the whole package on this years Samsung. Awesome job!
